First letter to Franklin Pierce Adams discuss in detail his newspaper career, leaving routine work for magazine and syndicate work, and, briefly, his hope that Adams will attend the 1906 newspaper club men's meeting in Denver and how Chapman can be reached during an upcoming trip to the Southwest. Second letter to Adams discusses in detail working over some western verses into a short story and his love of Wyoming, and, briefly, a column of parodies, a Los Angeles trip, and the "funny man at the Post." Third letter to Charles Gallup discusses sending a manuscript copy of the poem [Indians in khaki], which appeared in the N.Y. American. Fourth item is manuscript of poem, "Indians in khaki," about Native Americans in military service during World War I.
